This half day training will enable delegates to understand the updated 2022 Birmingham Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education in detail. For those newer to RE and those requiring a more detailed refresh of the Birmingham approach, Dr. Simone Whitehouse will acquaint you with the origins of the dispositional approach and the reasons for teaching RE in this manner. Simone has worked in the capacity of drafting secretary for the syllabus and will be able to explain the Conference’s discussions around the changes that have been made and enable you to understand how to deliver RE in your school.
