Participants will consider how to prepare pupils for statutory tests and to make accurate and consistent teacher assessment judgements for writing in line with national expectations and evidenced through on-going, normal classroom practice.

Participants will gain:

  • A working knowledge of current Standards and Testing Agency (STA) statutory guidance and expectations related to end of KS2 statutory assessment processes of testing and teacher assessment.
  • A professional development opportunity to consider the demands of KS2 maths, reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar tests, test preparation and feedback from reviews of past test papers explore the STA national writing exemplification materials and related examples of underpinning evidence.
  • Understand the requirements of robust assessment and moderation processes.
