During this course, which provides a face-to-face alternative to online training, delegates will improve their:
- Awareness of the scale of abuse and the need to create and maintain a safer culture within the school or service, identifying which key features of recruitment help to deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
- Awareness and understanding of offender behaviour, characteristics of abusers and of how child sex abusers typically operate within organisations
- Knowledge and understanding of safer recruitment procedures including conducting structured interviews and consider practices which minimise the opportunities for abuse, encourage its prompt reporting and think about how to create and maintain an ongoing culture of vigilance
