Health For Life in the Nursery School

The highly successful Health for Life in Primary Schools programme is now extended to Local Authority Nursery Schools in Birmingham for a two year period.

The approach of the Health for Life programme is to promote an ethos and environment which encourages a pro-active approach to choosing a healthy lifestyle. Nursery schools would choose to focus on one of the following:

  • Growing food
  • Physical activity
  • Healthy eating and cooking

Health for Life requires a culture of family involvement, encouraging families to build on the exciting work happening in the nursery setting.

Education Advisers will work with you to explore opportunities and ideas to introduce your children to understanding how to live a healthy lifestyle. Your adviser will also support you through the process, setting out programme expectations and requirements and effective ways to meet these in order to achieve the award.

The programme is funded by the Mondelēz International Foundation and Health for Life has been delivered through primary and secondary schools across Birmingham by Services for Education for over 7 years. Health for Life is well supported in the city by Sport Birmingham, Life Education Service, Birmingham Adult Education Service and many more educational providers.
